We always see something innovative at the Troy Defense booth and when it comes to manufacturing in a commie state, you have to be ahead of the game. In comes the Troy Pump Action Rifle or simply P.A.R. This is a display/prototype piece that would be offered as a complete rifle with a folding adjustable buttstock. It was show with a 30 round magazine though Massachusetts law is now a 10 round max cap state. It was a fun concept to play around with, but we will assume this was just in place for display at this point in the game.

So you live in a commie state with a 10 round mag cap, but you want additional ammo at the ready. FAB Defense has developed the PMC aka Pentagon Magazine Carrier to provide you with five 10 round 5.56/.223 Rem magazines available at the flip of the wrist for any automatic loading rifle semi or otherwise. Apparently Black Starfish was already trademarked. The company rep. noted that this will be available as a complete system for $115 MSRP. Its lightweight and doubles as a magpad, so what isn't there to like...

We were wondering when they would come around and for SHOT Show 2014, Troy Industries went big on the KeyMod kick. They will be offering complete rifles with a standard KeyMod integrated handguard with the direct attachment points at the 3, 6, and 9 positions as well as 45 degree offset. The SDMR Rails will be available on the Troy Defense 5.56 and .308 Rifles, which integrate a Picatinny rail segment at the end of the handguard at the 3, 6, and 9 in addition to a continuous KeyMod system at the same position.

Troy Industries will also be offering standalone handguards with the KeyMod system that do not have the integrated Picatinny segments.

If that is not enough they will be utilizing the SDMR Rail on their PDW Rifles, which integrates their own proprietary retractable buttstock. This buttstock system will also be sold separately including upper and bolt carrier group at an MSRP of $1,500. The complete SBR will come in for an additional $200.

In addition Troy has introduced the carbon fiber Revolution Rail line including 11", 13", and 15" models for AR Rifles as well as a 9mm model SBR variant. These are about as lightweight as it gets and pricing starts at $325 MSRP for the AR Model.

This year at SHOT Show, 5.11 Tactical introduced their Zero-G Plates System. This is a load bearing support that straps in under duty belts. The Zero-G Plates are manufactured with carbon fiber that is moderately flexible and better distributes the weight of the loadbearing equipment to the hips and offer back relief. The system also helps stabilize your holster on the belt.

5.11 Tactical released the Sierra Bravo Duty Belt in conjunction with the Zero-G Plates, though the latter can be utilized with many duty belts. The Sierra Bravo Duty Belt is manufactured with 1680 Nylon with a waterproof treatment and DuraFlex hardwear. The belt design includes MOLLE Web Gear and the 5.11 SlockStick System for attachment of load bearing equipment. The total system includes a main belt, inner belt, and four individual keepers with dual-retention hook and loop/snap closures.

Gore-Tex introduced their Light and Fast Fabric this year to provide a lightweight and packable solution for military outerwear. As with most Gore-Tex brands it is extremely waterproof and also provides moisture-wicking as well as flexibility for ease of movement.

Several manufacturers had outwear on display in the MultiCam fabric including Propper International, who had a great looking coat and pant. The coat integrated several features building on the lightweight and active concept with mesh lined pit zips and back panels that are secured with hook and loop.

At this point in the game, this design is a showpiece, but we can see a lot of potential for those that would need it. We definitely look forward to see where Propper takes this concept.

Stark Equipment Corp. had a lot of great grips on hand including new versions without the trigger guard integrated for AR-15 and AK style rifles. The grips all include a coating for better purchase even when wet.

They will also have sling versions for each grip with hook mounts or QD Swivel mounts. Stark grips are very ergonomic offering a secure grasp to hold your rifle.

We stopped by the LDB Booth to check out the Gilboa line of rifles as well as the Corner Shot from Silver Shadow out of Israel. Not only will they be looking to bring the Gilboa rifle line and the Corner Shot to the United States, but they are also looking to manufacture the firearms and conversion system stateside to avoid any import regulations.

While Gilboa had previously acknowledged the Snake Double Barrel rifle as a concept piece, they have now confirmed that this is a full operational model on display and is intended to hunt terrorists to max capacity. Will you need a stamp? Most likely not from our understanding of its operation and confirmation from an ATF source, but Caveat Emptor. Assuredly, they will have a letter and further affirmation on the matter to clear your conscience assuming other factors involved don't negate a yearning for a double barrel AR-15.

The best booth babes are those that are actually knowledgeable about the products being displayed. This fine young lady provided indepth details on the on the scope mount and smart phone bracket called the Inteliscope. It is currently compatible with select iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phones.

Primary Weapons Systems had their direct attach KeyMod grip on display for SHOT Show 2014. One of the more simple designs that we saw that is in short supply in the market. The PWS KeyMod Grip utilizes a hex screw for attachment.

If you haven't received enough KeyMod goodness thus far, then you can thank Samson Manufacturing for providing even more popular rails with the Direct Attach System. They have introduced KeyMod to their Evolution Series with various lengths being offered as well as some KeyMod accessories, which you can get a glimpse of with the sling mount shown below. We are sure some handguard manufacturers don't have a KeyMod product yet, but we are drawing a blank at the moment.

MEGA Arms has released a released their Megalithic Tactical System at SHOT Show 2014. The Megalithic is their monolithic upper with KeyMod equipped handguard for AR-15 rifles as well as the MATEN version for .308 rifles, but with an integrated leveling system. The level retracts with a one hand push and twist release.

There were a wide range of new products on hand at SHOT Show for AM-TAC Precision. Not only are they looking to build rifles utilizing all of their own parts, they also showed off their 416 Hushpuppy round, which has a 450 grain round with a .416 cartridge. They developed the cartridge to provide local law enforcement with the stopping power of a 12 gauge shotgun in an AR-15 platform. They also wanted it to be a subsonic cartridge to be utilized with suppressed rifles.
Ten rounds of .416 Hushpuppy will fit in a standard USGI Magazine for more versatility with existing magazine options.

There was also the AM-TAC K.R.S. V2 KeyMod Handguard with the QIK System on hand at their booth, which features the KeyMod system at the 3, 6, and 9 position. In addition at the 3 and 9 position they have back angle cut the attachment point, so that you can mount an anti-rotational QD Swivel without the need of any additional accessory.
